To celebrate her son Maddox’s 18th birthday, Angelina Jolie decided to visit Cleveland on August 5th. Angelina, who recently penned a powerful essay for Elle magazine’s September edition, looked chic in a light brown dress, while Maddox kept it casual in a t-shirt and baseball cap. The mother-son duo caught up with their close friend Loung Ung, the author of “First They Killed My Father” – the book that served as the inspiration for Angelina’s 2017 film adaptation – for a meal and some city exploration.
Loung recently posted on Facebook about her heartwarming day reuniting with Angelina and Maddox. Their day started with a tasty lunch at Market Garden Brewpub, followed by a visit to Ohio City Farm/The Refugee Response Program and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Loung fondly recalled meeting Maddox when he was just a young child, and now he’s all grown up at eighteen and preparing for college. Time really does fly by! She concluded her post with birthday greetings for Maddox and shared some adorable photos of the pair enjoying their day out with friends and new acquaintances. It was truly a special and unforgettable day for everyone involved!
Angelina Jolie, mother to Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, Vivienne, and Knox from her past marriage to Brad Pitt, will soon bid farewell to her oldest son, Maddox, as he starts college at Yonsei University in South Korea. The 19-year-old will be studying biochemistry, a subject he is passionate about. A source close to the family shared that Angelina will be taking him there in August and is bursting with pride at his accomplishments. While she will undoubtedly miss him, she is confident that Maddox is prepared for this exciting new phase in his life.
