Speck, a delightful two-year-old Border Collie mix, has been residing at Bullock County Humane Society for the past eighteen months. Despite the absence of snacks and playthings, this charming canine seeks the companionship of humans instead. This patient pup loves interacting with everyone who crosses his path, be it fellow canines, felines, or humans. Desiray Miracle-Wilder, the director of Bullock County Humane Society, notes that Speck yearns for affection and human connection. Therefore, he will make an excellent addition to any loving home.
While Desiray was cleaning kennels, she discovered a dog that had been overlooked by potential adopters. However, when she recorded a video of Speck wrapping his paws around her arms and wagging his tail, thousands of people went viral over it. This video helped Speck get adopted by a loving family who found him through Allie’s Hope For Paws Dog Rescue. Despite being adopted, the only obstacle is that the family lives out of state, so the shelter needs volunteers to help with transportation to New York. Once Speck arrives at his new 26-acre farm home, he’ll be able to enjoy running around with his two furry brothers and their human family, Mike and his loved ones.
AHFP is currently making arrangements with Pilots N Paws for a volunteer pilot flight, but they require additional helping hands. Drivers, truckers, and pilots are all welcome to lend a hand in transporting Speck to his new home. If you’re willing to offer your assistance in any way, please reach out to the rescue team. Desiray expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support she has received since Speck’s adoption, emphasizing how his story has touched many hearts and even resulted in food donations. His adoption not only highlighted his irresistible charm but also raised awareness for other animals in need of rescue.
